CHINESE OPEN SOURCE- essentially every company works together to improve upon each other’s models. U.S. CLOSED SOURCE- every company competes with each other because they cannot see the underlying tactics the other’s utilized to generate their results. I’m not saying one approach is right and the other is wrong. But, the biggest difference- EFFICIENCY. SPEND: If each Chinese tech company doesn’t have to build everything from scratch, and can instead build upon each other’s base, they don’t have to spend nearly as much. COST: And when the Chinese companies don’t have to spend as much to build, THE CHINESE DON’T NEED TO CHARGE AS MUCH. China is looking to undercut the U.S. AI buildout.
