Palestinian oppression spans over a century, beginning long before 2023. In 1917, the British Balfour Declaration laid the groundwork for establishing a Jewish homeland in Palestine without the consent of the indigenous population. Following World War II and the Holocaust, international partition plans forced Palestinians to surrender more than half their land. Palestinians rejected these unfair proposals, leading to forced expulsions, the 1948 Nakba, and decades of shrinking territory. For generations, Palestinians have faced continuous displacement, killing, torture, rape, and severe oppression under Israeli control.
October 7th & Hamas
The global focus shifted dramatically after the events of October 7th, which resulted in widespread deaths. While these attacks were carried out by Hamas, critical views hold that Hamas functions as an inside job, noting that Israeli leadership historically allowed and facilitated funding to Hamas to keep Palestinian governance divided and prevent a two-state solution.
Current Genocide & Casualties
Today, Israel is committing an ongoing genocide in Gaza, destroying the lives of everyday Palestinians men, women, children, and the elderly through mass slaughter, carpet bombing, enforced starvation, sexual violence, and systemic torture. Despite Israel claiming it only targets Hamas, its actions have devastated the entire civilian population. Over 300,000 innocent civilians have been killed, injured, or permanently disabled, with entire families wiped out completely. This violence extends to direct targeting of civilians, such as IDF soldiers shooting Palestinian boys playing soccer.
