We had an issue with my husband’s Audi. I put all the issues into ChatGPT and it looked up our rights etc and drafted a formal complaint email and found the email addresses to send it to at head office as well as the dealer. We had a response within a day and the problems got resolved. Good luck!

yes, you guys are correct. the dealership has a duty of care to address all problems - especially within the first six months. make sure you not only keep liaising with them, the dealer group whoever that is (e.g. Sytner), Volvo themselves (head office in Maidenhead)… and threaten the dealer to also notify the automative ombudsman about you needing the dealer to accept the car back due to ongoing issues. best advice: ring the dealer on a daily basis… be as annoying as possible - they’ll eventually want to get rid of you☝️

the issue with the radio can usually be solved with a centre screen reset, it's not ideal but it's a quick fix for a software bug they're working on fixing. if the transmission warning happens again, call Volvo Assist (which you should have), get them out and they can inspect it and have it recovered in if necessary. A propulsion/transmission warning could be anything from the battery cells, to the BECM, ISGM etc. also check as certain plug in hybrid models are currently subject to a recall on the battery cells

Probably worth talking to an independent reputable garage to inspect the car and produce a report of any faults they find.

Ombudsman are great! They agreed we were sold a car that wasn’t to standard and got money back that we had to spend fixing the car. Long story short we’ve had problems with things not being coded and it’s spent months in the garage! Thank god I didn’t sell my first car!

Ombudsman will take like 6 months. Tell them they either need to refund or repair car within x amount of time. Did you finance? Your finance company should

Hope you don't have a bad time like we had, on 2 separate occasions we have had Solicitors deal with our claims and both times were rejected, lucky in a way for us they were no win no fee cases, But does take up a lot of your time.

Let the finance company know, if you have finance, also threaten legal action as they won’t want a CCJ against the company

VOLVO known electrical issues the main dealer knows about. But don’t recall. Depends on your model B4 /B5 or T3/ T4/T5. The faults are Liw battery voltage would cause all your mentioned issues. Infortaient issues Drive line. Etc due to electrical harness having water ingress. Mention the recall memos to The dealer.

If you’re losing the radio and intermittent faults with other electronics, then I’d get the car battery drop tested first. If the ECU senses voltage drops then it can shut down ancillary systems. That would be my first port of call. Gearbox ECU is also potentially sensitive to this.

This could be a battery issue. That would be my first port of call. Electronics start messing around when the battery capacity/voltage gets low.
