the original has more versatility. if they add hidden blade combat and the ability to pick up rifles again the remake would dominate the original in every way

The new combat is whatever. The original is better, you could fight with a variety of weapons. There were more than 3 animations

Swords, hidden blades and fists all behaved the exact same way. Parry > kill. Or Parry>Shoot. The weapon "variety" didn't exist and was purely visual. There was no depth, just two buttons and a cutscene. I prefer that the combat now has more of your own input to it. The more player expression it can have the better. And, if you want, you can still play the parry>kill method.

I picked up rouge after resynced and the old combat is better you can pick up single swords, axes, and muskets and not to mention disarming and multiple options after parry i just feel like if we were going to change the combat system at least keep how flowy the old one was idk or keep the old combat and add the kick and sweep option
