When I was a kid the drug dog was very interested in my bag. The handler asked if I had peanut butter. I had reeces wrappers and they were like I’m sorry he’s still training and has been doing this all day 😭

my blood sugar tanked in my freshman year while they were walking through with a drug sniffing k9. teachers assumed I was high even though they knew I had a medical condition and refused to let me have a snack and juice while my blood sugar was dropping right after gym class. apparently I had fainted bc I came to laid on the floor with the dog licking me and his handler screaming at my teacher and the principal while he called 911. a friend had called my mom and we personally knew this cop. his dog had alerted to my low blood sugar more than once when I was delivering his news paper. he knew without getting my monitor out (before the continuous monitors existed) what was happening when I was barely responsive. one of the school secretaries who knew my locker combo for emergencies checked my blood sugar and it was in the 30s. the dog laid across my legs until my mom and the eats got there while I drank a juice box. still had to go to the hospital but the point is, even trained k9s don't always do their job, sometimes that distraction from the task is adorable and silly, and sometimes it saves a life

One time in middle school a drug sniffing dog pointed out my locker. My mom worked for the school so she came to get me to unlock my locker instead of them cutting my lock. The way I was so confused being pulled from class to unlock my locker. They didn't find any drugs, on the account I didn't have or do any, but the drug dog did find my freshly made Salami sandwich I had packed for lunch.

I had the drug dogs in school stop and sniff my backpack. when I had to pull out what was in my bag the dog just wanted my peanut butter cookie. 🤣

My grandma went to visit her brother in jail once with her purse full of ham sandwiches (they’d just gone to lunch and she packed them from the restaurant for later) and they nearly arrested her because the drug dog went absolutely apeshit on her. She did do drugs, she just didn’t have any on her that day luckily.

When I was 15 a drug beagle alerted on my bag in an airport so I opened my bag (terrified because I was in a foreign country). Turns out he alerted because of my massive bag of fruit snacks. The handler said “sorry he really likes fruit. Have a good day”

was leaving Germany to come back to the states. this beagle smelled a slim Jim in my bag. asked security if he could have a little and they said sure. he was the happiest lil guy. even got to pet him

I got stopped in TSA when a black lab spent too much time on me. I had a corgi and her hair was all over me. He was just smelling what she left on me😭😭😭😭

I’ve been alerted by a service dog getting on a cruise because I didn’t finish my turkey sandwich from the airport. My family still calls me a drug dealer! I work for the cartel in their eyes now. 🤦♀️🤷♀️

Story Time: My wife once got a call to do electrical work in a government building. The building had several security checkpoints with dogs. 1st dog she was told not to put her bag on the floor because for some reason the dog likes to pee in them. 2nd check with different dog. Dog got very interested in what was her bag and definitely showing signals for contraband. The bag got searched and it turns out the dog just wanted to eat her turkey sandwich, the handler just said “oh yeah she sometimes confuses sandwich meat and drugs, you’re clear to continue.”
