@dr_mikem: Here is what parents need to understand about the newborn they just brought home 🐣 Neurologically and behaviorally your baby is still mostly functioning like the they did the last few months developing in the womb. Same clock, same tendencies, same needs for regulation (except for needing to eat now and breathing air🫁). This is truly the “4th trimester” and when you think of your baby this way, it changes everything about how you understand them and can best meet their needs. Tell me how you navigated the “4th trimester” with your newborn. @Ergobaby @Coterie (milobsky20) @MaryRuth's (MROMICHAEL) @Naturepedic @Dr. Noze Best (milobsky15)

Do you (or anyone) have any recommendations for newborn carriers? I’m a ftm and there are so many carrier options and it’s becoming an overwhelming decision lol

the carrier was a game changer for me. I hate it when people try to tell me to not pick her up when she's crying, or that I hold her too much, or that I'm going to spoil her....she's an infant. she's acting like an infant, and I'm giving her what she needs.

I love all your videos (super helpful as I have a 10 month old and soon to be newborn!) but SIR - you slinging that hot coffee around was making me a nervous wreck 🤣🤪

I had my last baby at 34 weeks, she spent 8 days in the NICU. She was most definitely more for me than anyone else and she enjoyed being snuggled up in the most wild positions ( representing still being inside my belly! )

Just realized that 12 weeks of newborn stage x 7 kids is almost 2 whole years of taking care of a newborn baby in your lifetime 👏🏼👏🏼 amazing

It's very heartbreaking that there is no obligation for maternity leave or maternity care here in America. Most women are back by 6 weeks. At my work you get 4 weeks. Disability doesn't pay much. America needs to change about this because you are so right.

can you do a video on "appropriate foods/eating" for older babies? my son is 11 months and sometimes I worry I'm not feeding him enough textures, sizes, etc.

Our last grandbaby was preemie and thankfully only needed a couple of nights in NICU. He was very “clinging” to Mama (not that she minded) and she realized he needed more skin to skin and extra cuddles from her. In about 5 weeks and closer to due date he became more like her previous newborns still loving Mama’s touch and cuddles but not as “clinging” to Mama. He would allow Dad to feed and cuddle more. Not meaning clinging as a bad thing just only way to describe in typing.

I love the newborn potato stage. and then around 3 months you watch them "wake up" to the world and it's so incredible!
