After the birth of her third child in 1940, my great aunt was committed to a mental hospital by her husband because she had postpartum depression. She lived in that hospital, and then a nursing home, for the rest of her entire life. She died in 1999 outliving everybody, her husband her parents, her siblings. My grandma visited her sister every Sunday afternoon so she would not be forgotten. I would’ve continued that if I wasn’t 3000 miles away. My heart breaks for her every time I think about it.

As a mother whose dealt with psychosis and the stigma of mental illness for over a decade, with an ex who wouldn't let me get treatment and would drug me to send me manic to get me hospitalized when I wanted a divorce (he didn't want to pay alimony or child support), you women are healing me. It's really nice to know I have women out there who understand and don't demonize me. I love you all 🥰.

The health care system absolutely failed her. She was screaming for HELP countless times with being overlooked. Three beautiful babies were lost due to their negligence. Our healthcare is so worthless. You go in for help & all they do is look at their Laptop & search what the cause could be. That’s it and say you are fine. She even stressed that the medication was making her feel worse & wasn’t herself. My heart hurts so much. Healthcare providers are so overpaid to do NOTHING
