While most mosquito species tend to be most active at dusk and dawn, Asian tiger mosquitoes are typically active during the daylight hours. “They’ll take multiple blood meals, they’re really good at biting people, and they’re better than the mosquitoes we’re used to,” Mark Clifton from the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District said. So if you're getting bit more than usual this summer, these mosquitoes could be to blame.
