She is an Oni and was born with only one horn which made her feel inferior to Ram. That insecurity pushed her to become a perfect servant. She was suspicious of the main character Subaru at first because she could sense a dark presence on him, however after he risked his life to save her from mabeasts she fell in love with him and became his most loyal friend. She once told him during his lowest moment that he would always be her hero. Rem is skilled at water magic and can enter an Oni form that increases her physical abilities.
