My government non optional retirement benefits only allow me to get the benefits (I get a flat monthly rate until I die) if I work until at least 55 I get an okay amount but if I work until 62 I get an addition $8,000 a month. Thoughts? Should I just except that I’ll have to keep working until I’m 55 or 62? Work optional seems impossible in this situation

What are you planning to do with your money left over if you don’t have anyone to leave it to? I’m child free and worried I’m saving too much for retirement if I can’t spend it all when I retired and before I die

Healthcare expenses at that age can cost six figures annually. Don’t wish that on anybody, but better to prepare for that and not need it, then end up with bad healthcare due to lack of funds

I think you need $5M in today’s dollars to truly be safe/comfortable.

are you still using the 4% rule for retiring early? there seems to be conflicting opinions on 4% being too conservative for retirees but at the same other that say 3 to 3.5% should be used for early retirees with a much longer retirement window.
