@_medic2: (Lena POV) By the time dinner ended, I had learned three things. Miu looked unfairly beautiful tonight. She knew it. And the woman across the table flirting with her was becoming the single greatest threat to my patience. Miu caught me staring. Of course she did. Her lips curved into that infuriating little smile. Jealous? I narrowed my eyes. No. She only smiled wider. The woman said something that made Miu laugh. My jaw tightened. I looked away. Five minutes later, Miu’s hand found mine beneath the table. I glanced at her. She didn’t look at me. She simply squeezed my fingers once. Then again. I tried not to smile. Tried. Failed. …… The drive home was supposed to give me time to recover. It didn’t. Her fingers slipped between mine. “Good.” I swallowed. “Why?” “Because I like knowing you care.” She leaned closer again. My pulse jumped. “Miu, you better stop this.” “Or?” I tightened my hands around the wheel. “Or I’m going to forget we’re supposed to be going home.” Her smile turned slow and wicked. “Maybe I don’t want you to forget.” I stared at the road. “You’re impossible.” “And you’re adorable when you’re trying to behave.” Her fingers gave mine one final squeeze. Then she leaned back. The silence afterward somehow felt hotter. When we finally reached home, I unlocked the door. Miu stepped inside first. But she didn’t go far. She stopped just beyond the entrance. I closed the door. The lock clicked. Silence. I turned. Miu was already watching me. Then she stepped forward. Her hands slipped around my waist. I froze. She pulled me closer. “You’re…” I swallowed. “Surprised?” “Usually I’m the one who…” “I know.” Her smile softened. “That’s why I’m doing it.” My heart stumbled. Miu had always been playful. Teasing. But tonight there was something different in her eyes. Something certain. “You’ve been enjoying yourself,” I whispered. “Very much.” “You planned this.” “Maybe.” “Miu…” She leaned closer. “Tonight, you don’t have to do anything.” Her voice dropped. “Just stay.” I stared at her. And suddenly, the entire evening made sense. The looks. The touches. The teasing. She hadn’t been trying to make me jealous. She’d been making me wait. Miu smiled when she realized I’d figured it out. Then she whispered… “Turn around.” I obeyed. Her fingers slipped gently into my hair. A shiver moved through me. “Miu…” “Hush now, babe.” Her fingertip traced lightly across my shoulder. I closed my eyes. Her lips brushed my shoulder. “So beautiful.” My breath caught. She pressed another soft kiss near my neck, then another, slow enough to make me forget every clever thing I’d planned to say. I tilted my head instinctively. God. This woman drove me insane. “I’m yours,” she whispered. My chest tightened. She gently slipped my coat from my shoulders. “Don’t move.” I tried. I really did. But her fingers continued their slow path along my arm, barely touching, sending warmth through every nerve. A quiet laugh escaped her. “You’re terrible at following instructions.” “You’re distracting me.” “Maybe that’s the point.” She turned me around. Our eyes met. The teasing disappeared. “You don’t have to be jealous anymore.” Her hands settled around mine. “I’m yours.” I swallowed. “Always?” Miu smiled. “Always.” She leaned closer.
