@ian_invests: stop keeping your money in a normal savings/checking account… *(Affiliate link) I earn a commission (no extra cost to you) if you use my links to sign up*. the average bank account only gives you around 0.01% APY in interest… meaning your money is literally LOSING value if it’s just sitting in a regular bank account… A better place to put your money: High-yield savings account (HYSA) a HYSA is basically like a normal savings account, but you can earn interest (free money) every single month on your balance with ZERO risk! this is the BARE minimum you should be doing with your money, and it’s a great place to keep any money you’re saving and/or your emergency fund i use and recommend SoFi for a HYSA — you can find the link at the top of my page to get a 3.8% APY AND earn up to $400!! #PersonalFinance #financialeducation #relatable #highyieldsavingsaccount #savingtips
It’s ok to finance a car as long as you can afford the payments

What you said about the car is a terrible take like actually just bad advice. If you want an actual rule of thumb your car expense should be 10% of your monthly income and your car should not be worth more than half of your YEARLY income. Saying you should have enough cash to buy a car 2-3 over is actually just bad advice

The financing one is an incredibly dumb take. You can finance cars responsibly, it's how you finance that can be the issue.

Mr. White :
I use Klarna and Affirm all the time. it's actually a great tool to spend money wisely. I can set up payments to take out like $20 over the next few paychecks rather than dropping $200 all at once. The trick is don't use it on dumb stuff like a burrito, and don't have more than two or three things to pay off. Finish paying off those before you do it again.
