Interestingly, it was never used to call the faithful to prayer. Instead, it was likely built as an exotic decorative feature or as a memorial to the wars with the Ottoman Empire. The minaret’s summit once featured an observation platform beneath an ornate dome, where the owner could show guests the park and his estates. Over time, the structure became a romantic meeting spot.
