@expedition.ola: Before Expedition Ola, there was Timmy🤍 Timmy was the little guy who turned Nick and me from a couple into a family. We adopted him as a senior from our local shelter here in Lake Tahoe, and from the day we brought him home, he became our entire world. Of all the things we did together, his absolute favorite was paddle boarding🌊 When Timmy passed away just over two years ago, devastated doesn’t even begin to describe how we felt. We loaded our boy onto the paddle board one last time, paddled him out there, and gave him a forever spot surrounded by the place and the adventures he loved so much🏔️✨ Losing him left an enormous hole in our lives and our hearts & eventually, that grief led us to an idea… Expedition Ola🐾 This mission would not exist without Timmy. He showed us just how deeply we were capable of loving another little being, and how much meaning and fulfillment came from pouring ourselves into giving him the very best life we possibly could. And when he was gone, all of that love was still there. We just needed somewhere for it to go. Our grief slowly turned into purpose. Into adventure. Into dog after dog whose life we’ve had the privilege of becoming a part of. None of them could ever replace Timmy, and they were never meant to. They’re simply what grew from all the love he left behind🌈😇
