He developed an interest in traditional Cameroonian rhythms while growing up and later incorporated them into his music. In 1981, he recorded Bala Vibration with Rogers All Stars, alongside musicians including Charlie Tamajong Ndumu. The recording reportedly became very successful, with the source claiming around 900,000 copies sold in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa. “Love Me the Way I Do” was the title of one of his releases/album projects.
