i got called a terf and accused of bio essentialism over a hundred times in a comment section bc i was talking about how our hormone cycles are inherently a female experience. yes, not all women have a uterus or ovaries due to various medical/biological reasons, but it’s a huge part of being a woman and it’s a solely female experience.

trans women and cis women both experience misogyny and trans women also experience transphobia, but in order to understand how the struggles differentiate you have to acknowledge the root of each of the struggles. And the root of cis women’s struggles is in being born with female anatomy.

Also - women’s oppression got much worse after the invention of agriculture in large part bc men wanted to know their wife’s offspring was also theirs biologically for inheritance purposes.

Patriarchy is *largely* rooted in property ownership. This wasn’t a system invented by “men” so much as it was a system invented by wealthy, property owning men, largely as a means of securing their legacy in the form of paternal inheritance. Biology was the identifier, yes, but it wasn’t biological urges that led to patriarchy.
