I am of an age where I am biologically incapable of saying anyone is better than Tom Baker. But Capaldi is phenomenal. And his best story is also the best episode of Doctor Who, ever.

10 used to be my favourite but the I realised he didn't grow as a character at all. 11 absolutely did but 12 had the best character development of any Doctor. Also Peter Capaldi is the best actor to play the Doctor.

12 is my favorite of the modern era. Peter capaldi can give a speech like no other doctor. it makes me sad that he won't come back for things like big finish because I would love to have more 12th doctor stories

Tennant will always be my Doctor. As 10 anyway. His revisit to the character as 14 is... fine. 9 and 12 come in a close tied second place. The older I get, the less I like 11.

You didn't hate Capaldi. You just missed Matt. I did too. And Clara returning after dying kinda made very little sense. Bill should have turned up sooner and Clara could have been a great insert into some episodes. Especially as we saw how good they could do it with Oswin. So much potential ruined by beating a dead horse.

I didn’t like the grumpy old man attitude at first. And I hated his “punk” phase. But I liked Capaldi from his other works & he grew on me. He’s not my favorite, but he had some of my favorite episodes. It was such a let down when they went from Capaldi to Whittaker. She’s a great actress who had terrible writers. Her Doctor seemed so scatterbrained compared to Eccleston, Tennant, Smith, or Capaldi.

I liked him but I had really disliked the romantic crush vibes Clara was getting with 11. We’d already glad that with Amy and Martha and Rose and I was just tired of that dynamic. So was very happy to see a pairing where they’d have to have a different dynamic.

He isn’t my favorite, but I have always felt like his personality (the arc of it) is maybe as close to the “real” Doctor as he’d ever let anyone see. He didn’t wear this regeneration like a mask.

I started watching just a year ago, so I got the chance to see them all at their full run and establish my connection to the characters a bit differently. With that in mind, Capaldi is the BEST of the new era. His portrayal shows all sides of the Doctor, with an over arching theme that he wants to stand above his past persons by being good. And yet he battles that with the deep darkness he reveals with one line... "Under Cause". The coldest, most psychologically unnerving line ever in the series. Far beyond that whiney "Doctor Victorious" diatribe.
