And must of her horses don’t get rebreed till the foal is off their side but even then don’t people understand that in the wild horses breed mares 10-15 days after the mare foals so I don’t see the problem long as the mare isn’t dragged down from the foal and is keeping good weight most breeders will breed that horse again

How do you feel about the wild horses being rounded up for slaughter? How about advocating for them

the problem is, she let her fans get way too out of control. the only person they are willing to learn from is kvs. I'm on the fence about her being unethical because I do think she's learning as she goes. she spends millions on a horse to get the care it needs but sometimes she misses things such as Maggie. I even commented on a post asking why the vets didn't recommend a nurse mare immediately after it was born. that was absolutely brutal to do to Maggie. in my opinion, I think she's learned from ginger and cool and won't breed at those ages again. you can't blame kvs for Becca. could she have done more vetting? maybe. but if she had known how appalling Becca is, she never would have sold so much as a plant to her.

I totally agree with you that in no way ,did KVS intentionally mean for Cool to be in danger. Once again why I wish she would get an experienced mid wife in her facility. No one, and I mean NO ONE is allowed to critique KVS ever. That's actually super sad because the wealth of information that could be shared from other equestrians could benefit KVS and the community as well. Unfortunately the kult will full on attack and she allows it. Some of the things I've seen her followers say to other followers is down right deplorable and KVS does nothing to stop it. Not a good look on her part. It's no wonder the professionals are now second guessing buying anything from her. As far as the genetic testing, KVS not knowing is another scary thing about her as a breeder. Not knowing isn't a justifiable excuse. She's putting horses in danger and selling people a potential nightmare. I hope she sees your series. Know better DO BETTER. The whole Maggie situation teetered on inhumane. She totally should have had a nurse mare lined up after Maggie's first surgery!!! Maggie suffered.

when it comes to Maggie, Katie actually did notice the strain it was putting on mama and they did end up bonding the baby to a different horse.

Horses in the wild are bred as yearlings and have foals every year for the rest of their life. Breeding a mare into their early 20s is normal and fine.

I bred my older girl at 20… as i one day she will leave me and i wanted something of her. Her daughter is now 2, has the same color brown as mom. She did have 2 foals prior in her younger years. Yes she struggled during her pregnancy… it was hard on her. I bred her for my wants… i guess that is terrible.

I thought for the most part she doesn't breed on foal heats? from what I've seen in videos it's usually 1-2 cycles after I thought? Definitely could be wrong but that was what I personally gathered

After Cool things opened her eyes to the ages she has showed this year bringing in younger mares and even first foals and has retired & choose to skip breeding and keep open intentionally others. As long as you learn and change for the better that shows up in 2026

I only have one mare that I breed. She had her last foal 2 years ago at 16 and baby was smaller than should have been even though she was feed properly through gestation and had that baby earlier than I would have preferred. This mare had 4 foals in total but seeing how things have changed as she got older she is no longer going to be bred and will live her life out on the farm just living life ! The other thing that drives me crazy with KVS is she is always getting involved with the mare foaling and comes on the internet saying I had to help, sorry if that’s the case maybe think about why you are breeding the mare 🤷🏻♀️

In fact, Katie gave Margo to another mare to help Maggie recover. Obviously, the mare had to start producing milk and it's not something that happens immediately, so she didn't separate them right away.
