@tigray_memorial: Artist Tariku Gankisi was insulted, belittled, severely punished, and persecuted for calling for peace at a pro-war rally in Addis Ababa. He called on elders to help bring an end to the genocidal war in Tigray. Tariku was later made to appear on an EBS interview and apologize for calling for peace. He says he was abandoned by those he had previously worked with and no longer receives business calls. The Bible says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” History will remember Tariku as a lone voice in a country where prominent figures, artists, athletes, and people from all walks of life were calling for more war.
