Fan service aside, you got to appreciate how it goes about description addiction. Yanki is willing to degrade herself for her next fix, she’s willing to spend the last bit of cash she has on cigarettes rather than food, even when she’s ill she’ll look for alternatives ways to smoke, when her cigarettes falls in literal shit she’s willing to try and clean them rather than toss them, her house is a disgusting mess from her smoking, cat girls like her aren’t treated well in society so naturally they seek out something to take the edge off (cigarettes, drugs, booze, etc), Yanki’s body is suffering from the effects (she smells and has bowl issues), she quits a job because the smoking section isn’t available, Yanki is isolated due to her smoking and even her mother is addicted to cigarettes and covers it up from her younger daughter and scrape goats Yanki. Watched a lot of intervention as a kid and heard stories about addicts on here and various media, really reminds me of that. Hell, even the intro shows how smoking is glamorized with all the pop culture references to characters in media smoking.
