@kara_marlene: 🚨 THIS TESTIMONY ABOUT LINDSAY’S GRIEF REALLY STOOD OUT TO ME. The board-certified chaplain testified that she continued seeing Lindsay weekly at Tewksbury State Hospital and has now seen her roughly 200 times. She said they built a comfortable, respectful relationship and described Lindsay as being in deep grief and suffering. Then she was asked about Lindsay’s children. The Commonwealth objected. Overruled. The chaplain testified that Lindsay talks about her children frequently, loves them deeply and carries immense grief. Another objection. Overruled again. And THAT is what I find so interesting. This isn’t someone describing one emotional moment in a courtroom. This is someone who has spent years meeting with Lindsay regularly and is describing an ongoing grief that she has personally witnessed over and over again. Does grief prove anything about criminal responsibility? No. But I do think it matters when we are trying to understand Lindsay’s mental and emotional state — both then and now.
