@.cookwithbrooke: Henry’s Louisiana Grill ⚜️ Lunch date with my husband at one of my longtime favorites in downtown Acworth! And if you know Henry’s, you know this place is ALWAYS packed. 😂 So I personally like to go at weird times because apparently I’d like delicious food without 700 of my closest friends joining me. We started with the pimento cheese served with crispy wonton chips, and that was SO good. I also tried my husband’s gumbo — delicious. And honestly, all the bread? No complaints. Give me the carbs. We also tried the chili calamari, and that one just wasn’t for me. I’ve definitely had better calamari, and I’m still a little confused about the “chili” part because I didn’t really get any chili element from it. For my entree, I got my usual Chicken Ooh La La, this time the half order. This has always been one of my favorites because of the crispy chicken pieces, fresh spinach, pasta, and that little kick it normally has. Unfortunately, this one was a little disappointing. There was SO much sauce that it was almost soupy — and listen, I am not normally a person who complains about too much sauce. 😂 But when there’s more sauce than pasta, we have a situation. The kick I love was also completely missing, and with everything swimming in sauce, you lose those crispy little chicken bits that make the dish so good. Would I go back? Absolutely. Henry’s has been one of my favorites for years, the food is usually fantastic, and there’s a reason this place stays packed. This visit just had a couple misses for me.
