Hear me out. Hire a lawyer now! I worked new construction for years. We had a fire in one of our homes due to negligence from one of the subs. It took the insurance company 3 years to settle the claim. The insurance company’s mediator can delay the process until there is legal involved. If you don’t want to hire the lawyer, and you probably shouldn’t have to, strongly encourage your builder to do so. This is obviously a warranty issue which is why the builder is working with you. It’s also a sub negligence or defect. Pls check your warranty information.

I hate to say it but get a lawyer. my mom had an insurance claim due to a leak underneath her kitchen sink. it was drawn out so long. She lived in her house without a functioning kitchen for 9 months!

Be careful about staying in that house with mold. You all do not need to be around that mold. It can make you all get sick.
