Again great advise. My parents didn't teach me none of that. And I did make some big mistakes. About a year ago I set up a Modak debit cards for my girls, and pay them 'salary' $20/week. That's nothing for me, but we told them that we can give them as much as they need/want. The goal with this is for them to learn money management. The younger one is doing pretty good, but the older one (17) already got 'burned' couple of times. She thinks if she has money it's her obligation to pay for all of her friends just because she was driving them (like parking fee for example). Now she understands that that is not how the world works and hopefully will make smarter decisions in the future. I don't know why this idea didn't come to me earlier.

We do this! They get weekly allowance based on their age. $11 & $8. They have to give & save 10% each, rest is for them to use as they please. Sometimes they spend, sometimes waste it 😂 Don’t ask us for anything not basic necessities. They also have monthly “bills”. We save it for them long term for when they want to go to college/trade school/car/move out 🤗
