as someone who has a degree in environmental science, do not listen to this guy

anyways don't listen to this guy biodiversity is incredibly important and invasive plants will literally take over and decimate an ecosystem

Erm its really not that simple. There are real consequences to letting invasives grow rampant and i dont see why we shouldnt try to negate it. There is real success in invasive removals — it just takes effort

There's two paths:
- We either let invasive species outgrow indigenous population to the point they become prey, not predators and start consuming everything around them causing extinction events
-We fight invasive species organized

it's dangerous to let invasive plants grow because they can quite literally destroy entire ecosystems. diversity is incredibly important to maintaining an ecosystem, and to see one species dominant and outcompete (native)species that coexist with each other in balance, it can lead to the ecosystem's collapse.

And they are only invasive because a human put them where they didn’t belong, and nature didn’t curse them for that but instead they fou ça nd a new life

We are the most dangerous invasive species. We kill tens of billions of animals every year.

ok so no. what we are witnessing is a food chain collapse. nature cannot respond to anthropomorphic climate change within 50 years. Bacterium need 10^72 generations to meet minimums of mrna pathway transformations. thats like 15 years in ideals. AND THATS BACTERIA. im so sorry to burst your bubble, but nature isnt "adapting". The food chains and ocean currents are breaking down. This is real and its happening whether or not you believe it.

I have a bachelors in Plant biology and im getting my masters in environmental restoration/science. yes invasive species tend to out grow others and bloom earlier. and this is part of the problem. it isn't just that they are filling a niche but rather pushing other plants out of their niches by outcompeting them, in other words they spread faster than the plants that live here.
and because they are also new to the environment the indigineos animals (insects) can't digest the plant and so animal can't keep them in check.
all this further accelerates extinction events for indigineos flora and fauna alike (plants that we may need to keep the water clean for example)

isn't it hypocritical that humans kill invasive species?

ok :
killing invasive species can decrease their numbers giving the local ecosystem more time to adapt to it
