Just posing a question here: 🧐 Why is it important for an author or any artist show their face in order to either attract or keep your attention? Millions of books and pieces of artwork or music have sold for hundreds of years without buyers needing this aspect. Is this more a personal preference or a societal shift? For example: I don’t need to see a face. If I go to a bookstore or library, I am looking for professional covers and blurbs. Just curious…. 🧐

I do have a lot of book posts but you can also get to know me by my reposts & occasional promo breaks. I can’t stay in marketing mode all the time. My pfp is a book cover (not AI) yes but it’s because I have few pictures I like of myself, and I had the same pic up of myself forever and wanted to change my pfp.

i agree! but, the one thing about my page is, only "friends" can see my real posts. the real me isn't for everyone. those who follow me that I follow back see my unhinged posts lol I do reveal them at night sometimes, but they're always available for my friends. I don't feel comfortable showing everyone the real me all the time, especially if they're not interested in talking to me or actually connecting with me. for the ones who just look and leave, why show them?

Well I’m actually considering definitely doing more me stuff instead of stories advertised. My favorite page has a lot of feminism, awareness of mental health and abusive relationships, writer memes, memes in general, etc. I’m one of those progressive queer artists. Considering doing one of those introduction memes.

Also, I’m an author and a reader and it’s really cool to see people post things like this because I was writing in the early 2000s and we didn’t have any kind of social media bookishly back in the day, I’m back now after an eight year break will be releasing some stuff next year and I really do want to know what readers want from Authors because I just want bbook besties whether or not they read my books.
