@glazyhenceramics: Here’s why I trapped baby birds inside their mother! (You can buy un-trapped versions of Chippy and Cookie in my shop!) My viral chicken maraca got approximately 58 million views across all of my social media (parts 1 and 2 combined) and was temporarily liked by a super famous singer… so I’m finally going to explain why I made it, plus show what happened the day I opened the kiln to reveal the final result! The reel that inspired me to slice and scoop out a hen was a similar one I saw of a ceramic dog head. I forget who it was exactly! The idea to put little clay balls inside came from The Midori House. I put my own twist on it, because as I was forming balls of clay to put inside the hen, I realized it would be so cute to make baby birds instead. I had no idea how viral this would become! People got so invested in the birdies, which was so fun to see. I loved reading all the funny comments of people so concerned with the babies! I’m making a bigger maraca hen now, with six babies inside! I can’t wait to hear what they sound like when it’s done (it’s currently bone dry and waiting for a bisque fire- I need to start on my chicken chess set before doing a bisque fire so the top shelf of my kiln can be full!). #ceramicchickensculpture #viralchickenmaraca #chickenmaraca #ceramicchicken #artprocessvideo
