My mom and my aunt planned this cruise for my aunt’s birthday. It’s her first cruise at 71, and because me and my mom usually cruise together, I was a little salty when I couldn’t afford to go . Then my mom asked me, “Do you wanna go?” And y’all know I couldn’t just say yes. 😂 My mind immediately went to, “Okay, but I need to get my hair done. I need my toes done. What about spending money? How am I gonna…” My mom stopped me right there. “Do you wanna go? Yes or no?” YES. 😂 And honestly, that moment stuck with me. I realized I was so focused on figuring out the logistics that I was about to talk myself out of something that was being offered to me with love. I’m learning how to receive. How to accept the help. How to let my family show up for me. How to experience joy without feeling like I have to have everything figured out first. Because sometimes we really do block our own blessings trying to figure out how the blessing is going to work. So I said yes. And now I’m on a cruise celebrating my aunt’s birthday, her first cruise at 71, and making a memory I’m really grateful for.
