It’s officially Friday in Japan so here it is!! This is my first ever cardigan and project where I made sleeves 🙂‍↕️✨ Please check out the notes I’ve posted at the end of the video if you’re curious about exactly how many rows I’ve knit, pre/post block measurements, and just other things More info here in the caption as well: This is the infamous Loupy Studios Stripey Raglan Cardigan by Evvia! Her patter was written well and the YouTube video she made along with it was super nice as well, I highly recommend🤍 Also I started knitting a year ago so I think I’m intermediate (?) 🌟Cost of project total: ¥5,741 or $36.15 • yarn : <this yarn was bundled so each bag had 10 balls packed> 2x of the 10 pack of the Olympic yarn from Okadaya = ¥3,960 or $25 (each 10 pack is ¥1,980 or $12.47) • buttons : 10mm buttons = ¥525 or $3.31 15mm buttons = ¥628 or $3.95/1bag (I got 2 of the 15mm so technically it’s ¥1,256 or $7.91) (Each pack of buttons came with 15) 🌟Button notes: • I used a lace weight yarn to sew them on, you could use thread depending on the thickness of your yarn. I chose a lace weight because 1). The Olympic yarn is way to thick to get through the needles lol 2). The lace weight is just thin enough but sturdy enough • the button SHANK(?) is so important, especially if you don’t want a wavy button band! I used a dpn in between the button and the cardigan to ensure I had a good gap. The last step before you tie off the thread should be to wrap the thread around the thread a few times (if that makes sense). Please just look up a video 🥴 (I looked up “how to sew on a button onto knit projects”) 🌟Blocking: • when I blocked I made sure to not try and stretch out the waist ribbing, I pinned that down first and just “stretched” everything else out, just to ensure the rib would stay snug on me. • this piece was a rather perfect fit on me pre-block, I just needed the arms to grow a bit and they did! The sleeves ended right before my wrist before I blocked (if you were curious) • some other people who have knit this said their project grew a lot once blocked, but that wasn’t really the cast for me. It did grow a bit but not as dramatic as some others on here so just be aware! 🌟Some other notes: • how to tubular cast on when the ribbing isn’t exactly starting off as a 1x1 (you’ll understand if you read the pattern what I mean by this). I had to kind of wing it and hope it looked ok. • this took me about a week and a half to complete! Knitting stripes makes things go by fast for some reason idk • I have a long torso btw • actually I think that’s it hahahah - @hanakanazu
