Nobody talks about how AWKWARD it feels when you first start creating content. You record yourself and suddenly forget how to talk. You watch the video back 14 times wondering… “Why do I look like that?” “Why does my voice sound like that?” “Who am I to be talking about this?” And then you almost delete the whole thing. But here’s what I wish every new content creator understood: You’re not supposed to be good at it yet. You’re learning. The person who can casually pick up their phone, hit record, talk naturally, create a hook, teach something valuable and post it without overthinking every second? They probably weren’t always that person. They did the reps. They recorded the awkward videos. They posted when they felt uncomfortable. They learned how to talk to a camera. They learned how to tell a story. They learned what hooks worked. They learned how to edit. They learned how to make their message clearer. And eventually… it stopped feeling so awkward. Not because they suddenly became a different person. Because they practiced enough that the skills became second nature. Think about anything you’ve ever gotten good at. You didn’t start out knowing exactly what you were doing. You repeated it until your brain stopped having to think about every little step. Content creation is no different. So if you’re sitting there thinking, “I’m just not a natural at this…” Maybe you’re not supposed to be. You’re in the learning stage. And the only way out of the awkward stage is through it. Record the video. Post the video. Learn from the video. Do it again. Then again. Then again. One day you’re going to hit record and realize… “Wait…this doesn’t feel awkward anymore.” That’s the goal.
