Winter had always known that her wife had different sides to her. She just never expected those sides to feel like three completely different women. At work, Karina was terrifying. Not actually terrifying, of course. But enough that entire conference rooms would go silent whenever she walked in. “Who approved this?” Karina placed the report on the table. Nobody answered. She slowly looked around the room. “I asked a question.” Winter, who had been waiting outside the conference room with Karina’s lunch, quietly peeked through the glass doors. She sighed. There she was. Wife Number One. CEO Karina. Cold. Composed. Impossibly intimidating. The same woman who would casually say things like, “If you cannot meet the deadline, find someone who can.” Winter had once witnessed an employee apologize to Karina three times in thirty seconds. And then, exactly ten minutes later, Karina walked out of the room, saw Winter, and immediately smiled. “Baby.” Winter blinked. The employees inside the room froze. Karina walked toward her, completely forgetting that twenty people had just witnessed her destroy an entire presentation. “You came to pick me up?” “I brought your lunch.” Karina’s face softened. “You’re so sweet.” Winter stared at her. “…Are you the same person who was just threatening people with spreadsheets?” Karina frowned. “I don’t threaten people.” “You said, ‘I’ll personally review every department involved.’” “That isn’t a threat.” “It sounded like one.” Karina simply kissed her forehead. “Come on. Let’s eat.” Winter looked back at the employees. They were staring at her like she had just discovered classified information. She mouthed, She’s nice at home. They looked unconvinced. — Outside the office, Karina became someone else again. Wife Number Two. Elegant Karina. The woman who somehow looked like she belonged in a luxury magazine even when she was just buying groceries. She walked beside Winter with sunglasses on, one hand casually tucked into her coat pocket while the other held Winter’s hand. She was polite to everyone. “Thank you.” “Have a nice day.” “Excuse me.” Always graceful. Always composed. Always looking expensive. Winter, meanwhile, was carrying three bags of snacks. “Why do you walk like that?” Winter suddenly asked. Karina glanced at her. “Like what?” “Like you’re in a perfume commercial.” “I am walking normally.” “No, you’re not.” Karina raised an eyebrow. Winter copied her walk. Chin slightly lifted. Shoulders straight. One hand in her pocket. “Look. That’s you.” Karina stared. Then she laughed. Actually laughed. Not the polite little smile she gave strangers. A real laugh. “You’re ridiculous.” “And you’re dramatic.” “I am not dramatic.” “You’re wearing sunglasses indoors.” Karina immediately took them off. “Better?” Winter grinned. “Much.” Karina leaned closer. “Happy now?” “Very.” “Good.” She took Winter’s hand again. And just like that, the elegant Karina disappeared. — Continuation comsec #karina #winter #winrina #winrinaau
