@stalkers.canada: Daniel Myles of Hamilton, Ontario, a former city council candidate, withdrew from the 2026 Hamilton municipal election following intense media scrutiny of his lengthy criminal record. In 2016, Myles was sentenced to three years in prison for criminally harassing a woman. He secretly downloaded intimate photographs from her cellphone, threatened to distribute them and ultimately sent an explicit image to her son. His record also includes domestic violence, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and theft of telecommunications. Pre-sentence reports documented a continuing pattern of violent, threatening and abusive conduct toward former romantic partners. Journalists also identified decades-old New Brunswick arrest warrants matching Myles’s name and birthdate, involving more than 33 charges from the 1990s. A Hamilton judge previously described him as predatory and lacking empathy or insight into his behaviour.
