You people saying it’s normal is really irking me!!!! “If it’s in the US or Uk” yen yen. There’s nowhere in this world where you address a person who you don’t have relationship, especially when it is a panelist you have a question for!!!!!! Where has that ever happened. To be on a first name basis with anyone you must have had some sort of relations with them. Graduate trainee program or not! This lady has no single relations with this man and for Gods sakes you’re asking a panelist a question!!!!!

😂 Guys chill, The graduate trainee isn’t wrong. Tony is his name, and addressing him as Tony is not inherently disrespectful. If Tony attended a conference in the UK, US or Canada and a young professional addressed him by his first name, nobody would be calling for the person to be sacked or thrown out of the room.

Calling someone by their first name in a corporate setting isn’t automatically disrespectful. If he prefers "Mr Elumelu" or "Chairman," that’s fine, but the girl wasn’t necessarily wrong for assuming first name culture was acceptable.
