@itsjadeink: Here are some of my FAVORITE and LEAST FAVORITE places to tattoo on the body and WHY ✨ Inner forearm — LIKE It’s one of my favorite placements because it’s a nice, flat, predictable canvas. The skin is generally easy to work with, clients can usually sit pretty well, and it’s easy to position and stretch. Designs, especially portraits, realism, florals, and detailed pieces read really clearly there. Thigh — LIKE The thigh gives me so much room to work. It’s a large, relatively flat area where I can go bigger and really let a design breathe instead of having to cram details into a small space. The skin usually takes ink well, and clients tend to tolerate longer sessions there better than on more sensitive areas. Ribs — DON’T LIKE Ribs can be annoying because everything moves. The client is breathing, the skin stretches differently depending on their position, and getting a solid stretch can be harder. It’s also painful for a lot of people, so they may tense, twitch, or struggle to sit still which makes an already awkward area even more difficult. Sternum — DON’T LIKE tattooing, but LOVE design-wise Sternums can be so cool from a design perspective because you get to play with the natural symmetry and anatomy of the body. I love creating something that flows with the chest, follows the curves of the ribs, and feels like it was specifically made for that person’s shape. But actually tattooing it? Not my favorite. 😂 Between the breathing, constant movement, bony areas, awkward positioning, and how spicy it can be for the client, it can be a challenge. Hands — LIKE Hands are challenging, but I actually like that about them. They’re high-impact placements, even a relatively small tattoo can completely change the look of someone’s hand. I like figuring out how to make the design flow with the anatomy, knuckles, fingers, and natural movement instead of treating it like a flat canvas. Feet — HARD PASS😂 I just hate feet. That’s really it. I don’t want to touch them. I don’t want to be near them. There’s no deep artistic explanation here, feet are simply not for me 😭
