@amber.accountability: Replying to @Belles cherry I appreciate you bringing this up; and I’m curious what the consensus of the group is… 1) push through 13, no more distractions 2) put chunkier amounts towards smaller debt (even if it doesn’t pay it off) and continue micropaying on 13 3) abandon 13 after August and start snowballing I see benefits to all of it and I see y’all’s comments and DMs on it as well. In the end, 13 (and that big ol Ford loan) have to be paid off to achieve victory over this debt, it’s just a matter of when it happens. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 #debt #micropayments #debtpayoff #debtpayoffjourney #DebtFreeJourney
13 is a big one and it is taking forever and I feel like you get more traction and bigger contributions when the snow balling is happening because seeing them get knocked out is more exciting to see and everyone jumps on the snowball train.

It does make sense to pay off the higher interest loans first. But, are you really truly snowballing? If you snowball that means all of the money you were paying to the loan that got paid off now rolls over into the new target loan. So in theory, you should be sending double the payments to the new target loan.

I don't think that catering to instant gratification desires of some followers is necessary. What you're demonstrating is consistency and grit. Not jumping ship because what you're doing now isn't fun. So I hear your gut thought on working on 13. I would finish it and then snowball. Those of us who want to see you succeed will be here for all of it.

It has the highest interest payment, so you will save SO MUCH MONEY by making these micro payments on 13. Keep focusing on it as someone who has studied finance and paid $28,000 in student loan debt in 1.5 years.

I get it but a lot of us have Dave Ramsey mindset and would have started smallest to largest.

#13 has the highest interest rate- it meds to be paid off first. It makes the most financial sense.

Stay with 13. I agree with the perseverance and wanting the big win. Also makes sense bc of the interest rate

Think of 13 as the Mountain you have to get to the top of before you can go back down the hill. 13 is the right move financially/interest speaking
