I agree that those running for political office should know geographic locations of states and countries! Fun Fact: National Geographic Literacy Study: In a landmark geography survey of young Americans (aged 18–24), respondents quizzed on locating a subset of U.S. states averaged only 3.4 correct out of 7 (roughly 48% accuracy). In that study, only 50% could locate New York, and only 43% could locate Ohio.
