Animals are not unaware they just have a different level of awareness. Howwever this is besides the point. Differentiation is not the best model in this case. Look ✍🏻: at some point ai will be indistinguishable from humans. That is a given because it is part of the human body soon. The question is not if "it (whatever it is)" gets control or rights, the question is what dignity/rights we GIVE our brother and sister HUMAMS and our LAND our SOURROUNDIMGS and how we ENSURE those rights. If you are not enforcing human rights in Yemen, Palestine, Ukraine or in your neighborhood or on your dinner plate (think about your farmer) you can leave your concern about AI rights eating you up from inside or continue to nervously speak about it. It does not matter because you don't give yourself permission to prioritise correctly.

It’s a huge assumption that AI will want to take over. That’s a human desire to take over others, we can see that desire manifesting now. AI doesn’t have that evolutionary history of nastiness or brutishness. Some humans just fear that a “machine” can be more civilised than them !
