Some hormones and reproductive factors can influence the risk of certain cancers. Chronic inflammation and some long-term diseases may also be associated with increased risk of particular cancers. Certain medicines or medical treatments can increase the risk of specific cancers in some people but this is very different from saying the medicine “causes cancer” in everyone who uses it. And please remember: Having a risk factor does NOT mean you will definitely get cancer. And having none of these risk factors does NOT make you completely immune.
