@sltf_ghana: Setting the Record Straight on the No-Fees-Stress Policy The Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) clears the air on how the No-Fees-Stress Policy is actively lowering the cost of higher education across Ghana. Here is the breakdown of the 4 key pillars and exact figures: No-Academic-Fees Policy: Reimbursed 152,698 first-year students for 2024/25. For 2025/26, 168,982 beneficiaries have been paid so far, including 45,127 first-year students in public Colleges of Education, Agriculture, and Health Training Institutions paid directly under the pilot model. Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities: 1,623 students received 100% tuition and housing paid directly to their institutions, with stipends, assistive devices, and loan forgiveness considerations underway. Students Loan Plus: 1,997 beneficiaries (including 626 Ghana School of Law students) with GH₵20,762,175.19 disbursed directly to institutions. Enhanced Traditional Student Loans: 59,307 students served in 2025/26 with GH₵210,610,800.00 allocated. Loan amounts increased by 50% (GH₵2,250–4,500) and study-period interest reduced to 6% simple interest. By the Numbers: 321,680 total beneficiaries so far under the initiative. 61,304 students accessing enhanced and full-coverage loans combined. 1,623 students with disabilities receiving fully paid tuition and residence.
