Um I live about 60 miles from Gary in Illinois and I have heard it on my news (WGN) since last week. So how is there no news coverage? No hate but i think it’s more you guys don’t watch the news.

I’m glad you responded to that comment smh. It’s not on any news over here anymore.. a lot of the time northern Indiana news gets covered in Chicago since those cities are so close, I have family up north

All of NWI is suffering. People in Munster, highland, dyer are still without power as well. Gary is not the only place without it for this long.

Exactly! I live in Connersville Indiana and several people lost their home and still no electricity. My son lives in Indy South side and wasn't affected at all. I live on North end of Connersville and wasn't affected.

Nwi friend here. What makes it hard about where we are is that we are consider “Chicago” and affiliated more with Illinois than in our home state. Sorry people are being rude to you. The region is a weird area in Indiana.

NWI gets coverage on Chicago news outlets. That’s why. NWI is a news desert. We don’t have a news network that includes this corner of the state. Chicago covers us and then nothing from there to South Bend.
