Silk stinks. It has a STRONG and specific scent. We can only really smell it when we get it wet and hot, but let me tell you, as someone who regularly dyes and washes silk at scalding hot temperatures, it reminds you that it’s bugs. It’s a very specific parmesan/urine/freezerburn combo. No doubt in my mind that cats can identify it at room temperature.
