anyone hear of Zwarte Piet (Black Pete)....a traditional companion to Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) in Dutch folklore. During early December celebrations in the Netherlands and Belgium, Zwarte Piet assists in handing out treats to children, but the character is also the subject of major modern controversy regarding racial caricatures and blackface.
