Thank you for sharing this. I never hugged my daughter after about 2 because I was never hugged. I was in 3 homes and an orphanage! I have wept bitterly because I was so disconnected from her.

yes our parents are human & are learning and growing but I still think “not knowing any different” is an excuse for lack of effort or lack of self awareness.. I’ve been noticing it more with my grandma and my mom. I know life has shown them where they could make changes and they refuse to change…
