At @Cali BBQ Media we now produce more than 15 podcasts for our own brands and clients, and I’ve spent years telling businesses they need to podcast. I’ve changed my position. Your restaurant doesn’t need a podcast, your restaurant needs a show. A show means committing to storytelling consistently. Pick a day, hold yourself and your team accountable, create long form content every single week. Then distribute it everywhere. Audio, video, words, images. Your show can eventually become a podcast, but don’t get distracted by the format before you build the storytelling habit. Modern marketing is about education, entertainment, and inspiration. People aren’t going online hoping to find another commercial. Stop worrying about starting the perfect podcast.
