I had a discectomy 10 days ago and I couldn't believe it when I walked the next day with no symptoms! I had to go private though because my NHS telephone appointment with the spinal team isn't until October. I'm so glad I did because the surgeon I had said I was very close to losing my bowel and left leg to paralysis.

I’m at nearly 10 months with L5/S1 disk bulge effecting the left leg with weakness, numbness & tingling, I have slight scoliosis too which has been all my life. The constant flare ups everytime I even try to do much exercise is killing me trying to find the balance where I can do it but not too much, I just want to help it but it’s just not going anywhere. Chiropractor is the only one relieving the constant flare up like 24/7 to giving me flare ups i can slightly control if I do too much. I can walk more than I did say 6 months ago but I feel like I’m stuck in a permanent state like I only do so much which is very little compared to what I used to do😢 my left knee is in pain 24/7 now too. Doctors are so hard for help. Any advice you would give?

I had discectomy last sunday thighs doesnt have strength, i need assistance to get up. I also feel that my knees become week maybe because i cant walk for 6 months. I still have pain but only 3, so not much in pain but full of debt. I hope me and my partner someday be debt free

I had the same op . well done you. I was dancing at our son's wedding all night last Saturday. I might have looked stupid but I enjoyed every minute. Not so great the day after 😂

Oh my god I hope so. I started on amitriptyline last night so I’m crossing everything that along with physio it works because I’m desperate now and can’t even work at the moment. So happy for you xxx

I have L4/L5 and L5/S1 herniations, I’m scheduled for a caudal injection at the end of September, only other option surgery, did you try this first at all?xx
