Even before Miranda’s there were 2000 animals confiscated in April in CA. Sanctuaries are unethical. Period.

kill shelters are terrible. they kill perfectly healthy fine dogs for no reason. "they only euthanize for space!" nope, they had about 30 dogs and for a county shelter that's reasonably low.

The Paducah KY case was being fed animals by a rescue still in existence. Still with horrendous conditions.

Adopted a super senior shepherd mix from a humane society raid on a “sanctuary” in Mississippi in 2018. She had patchy fur on her back end and needed multiple teeth pulled. Every week dogs are pulled from a neighboring county EU list and I don’t know where the heck those dogs go or what happens to them after people realize they saved a dog without much thought.

I just cannot fathom. its so distressing. the fact small farms can have 3-4-5 times the amount of animals and they dont live in squalor and ppl will support this over humane euth

You should read up on the case before trying to convince people to kill innocent animals because of situations irresponsible humans put them in. This is a case of fraud, not an issue with rescue. They collected animals and pretended to be a rescue to collect donations. They were not a legal non-profit rescue. We need to make humans responsible and give them the consequences for not spaying and neutering their animals (basic care). Killing innocent, good animals isn't the answer. Heavy fines for people that don't spay/neuter their animals is the answer. Government assistance would be nice to get the ball rolling. But that won't happen. There are so many options to get help before you let your pet have an unwanted litter. Being broke isn't an excuse. Pets are a luxury, not a necessity.

Im pro selective killing. Using extremes as examples: Euth just to euth like PETA is just as bad as these 'sancutaries' that are tormenting these animals. some shelters should have higher criteria for a euth. Most are just fine.
