Don’t listen to her. Not getting a C can seriously limit your options. Universities and graduate employers still ask for English and maths, and many people have to keep retaking them until they pass.

You do need it. Every single job I’ve had you need a C/4 in English and Maths. College, uni… it’s a basic benchmark that you have literacy and numeracy skills🤦🏻♀️

The door that it opens is that many different qualifications and jobs specify to be able to do it or train, you need a C. Still very much relevant today

Every single job I’ve applied for has wanted a basic pass in maths and English and most of those are basic payed jobs. So yes you do need a basic pass in the subjects you’ve studied since 4!😂😂

And this is why the kids are delusional! Most colleges won’t accept you onto certain courses with a C! And even at the big age of 30+, I had to show my GCSE grades for a job a few years ago. 😭

Most courses and apprenticeships need you to have a min of C for Maths, Science and English. If you don't, you need to re-do or do an access course.
