@trial_trackers: Day 17 of the Lindsay Clancy trial featured just one witness before jurors were sent home early. Hospital chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh testified that Lindsay spoke about hearing a voice after the deaths of her three children. According to Cavanaugh, Lindsay said the voice told her that if she did not follow its command, neither she nor her children would be safe. Prosecutors challenged why Cavanaugh never documented that statement in her notes. After the jury left, the defense also told the judge that this is “clearly an involuntary intoxication defense,” arguing Lindsay’s psychiatric medications could have affected her actions. I dont trust religious people even a chaplains testimony when they will never find fault of a man for anything indirectly or directly in their own congregations.... so her testimony was irrelevant and honestly not worth hearing.
