I saw this from a young age. My mom was never happy, set the rules, but both parents would flee from confrontation. Eventually they split. My mom found another husband, he couldn't establish order, now she's getting divorced again. My dad in his second marriage lets her control him. His relationship with myself and my sister has deteriorated because he's so busy catering to her and her kids.
Then I have a friend whose wife was the boss. She made the rules and he simped for her. Sure enough she cheated on him, and he still wanted to take her back but she left.
Then there's my wife and I. My wife finds comfort in the fact I establish the order in the home. She trusts me to make the decisions and to own the decisions I get wrong. We have a wonderful sacramental marriage, and a very happy, healthy, loving child.
Men must be a firm but gentle hand, guiding the home to safety and security.
Christ is the beautiful land and the foundation that allows us to build. Men are the framing, walls, and roof that make a safe house. Women are the decorations and furniture that make it a beautiful home. Framing alone without a foundation will crumble. Land with a foundation is fine and beautiful on it's own, but it calls us to build upon it. And framing cannot take the place of a comfortable bed, or be used to cook a wonderful meal. Each piece of the home is so important in it's own special way 💜🇻🇦📿✝️
