Of course,we’re getting the most recent and most popular versions of certain characters. We’re following John Stewart and I think we’ll be following Wally West when we see Flash. Most of the people tuning into the DCU more than likely grew up with those versions before Barry and Hal.

Normal people don’t pick up comics from the first issue and read in a straight line. Comics are meant to be consumed in a jumping in kinda way. Just look at Batman Year One and Dark Knight Returns. Opposite ends of his story but published in the dead middle
